Welcome to the MPHS Band Program!
Midland Park High School Concert Bands are divided in to the Concert Band (Gr. 7&8) and the Wind Ensemble (Gr. 9-12). Throughout the year the students cover the following topics in each course: Pitch, Rhythm, Articulation, Phrasing, Tuning, Balance, Form, Cultural Influence and Style, Performance Analysis, Historical Perspective and Influence, Digital Music, and Types of Performing Ensembles. These and other topics are covered in a variety of ways using different instructional techniques and technologies

7th Grade Iinstrumental Program
All 7th Grade students will take a music class. They have a choice of Band, Chorus, or Band/Chorus. We will meet on an A/B schedule. Your instrument choices are below. Bold instruments must be provided by the student. Others will be available for loan based on inventory.
Woodwind (Flute, Clarinet, Oboe, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Bari Sax)
Brass (Trumpet, French Horn, Baritone, Trombone, Tuba)
Percussion (All will play Mallets, Snare, Bass, and Traps)
