California Day 3

Breakfast - Easy and quick breakfast in the hotel as we headed off to DCA (Disney Calfiornia Adventure) for fast passes to Racers before the park opened.

Band Brick - On the way to the session we walked by our band brick from the 2006 performance by the MPHS Band during Disneyland's 50th Anniversary Celebration. A little piece of MPHS in Anaheim!

Soundtrack Session - Awesome soundtrack workshop! The clinician, Bob Fellar, has worked with our band before back in 2006 and he was thrilled to have us back. We played all new music during the clinic which included the soundtracks from Tangled, Toy Story 3, and the opening Disney Credits. Lots of fun and one of the most unique educational experiences you can every have. The students had a few minutes to talk with him about the life of a studio musician and the career path to follow if you choose to make that your life's work.

Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln - Following our clinic we all stopped to see this classic attraction together before returning to DCA. This show is from the 1964 NY World's Fair and tells the story of Lincoln's life and his time as President through the use of the first audio animitronic human figure. Just google it if you have never seen the show. A short history class for the kids today as well.

DCA - Some downtime after we all went on RACERS together. Smiles all around and a well deserved treat after the hard work they had done at the workshop. The park was extremely crowded today as "Dapper Day" (you can google that too, we did) was celebrated in the park. A very unusual experience that I have never been to before. The students seem to enjoy seeing all the park guests dressed in costumes. Smooth night in the parks and then headed back to the hotel for the evening.

Instant Concert - One of our group meets was at a performance of "Instant Concert, Just add water with Maestro Goofy" A fun 5 minute show that explains the life of a conductor!

Tomorrow...Clinic with Composer/Arranger/Clinician, Sean O'Loughlin in Long Beach and World of Color Show!
